USA Gymnastics Coach Provides Critical Injury Update On Simone Biles

Nothing is going to stop Team USA's Simone Biles from pursuing greatness at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The already legendary gymnast is just one medal away from becoming the most decorated gymnast in Team USA history. Based on the moves she has submitted, she will have a chance to make history, and do so in extreme style, as she is pulling out some of the most difficult moves known to the sport. However, during Sunday's qualifying round, Biles suffered what many were speculating to be an ankle injury while warming up for the floor routine.

Even despite the apparent injury, she is expected to have qualified for the all-around competition and make it to the finals of beam, floor, and vault.

Her individual coach Cecile Landi provided a massive update on Biles' injury/status, which should invoke some confidence in fans.

"She felt better at the end," Landi told the media. "On bars, she started to feel better."

According to Washington Post reporter Emily Giambalvo, Landi also expressed that the calf injury was something that was flare-up of an injury suffered a couple of weeks ago.

"Simone Biles’s injury is a minor calf issue from a couple of weeks ago that flared up during floor warmups, according to her coach, Cecile Landi," wrote Giambalvo. "There was no discussion of her withdrawing from the competition."

If Biles is in fact able to win a medal or two in Paris, the fact she is fighting through an injury will only make it that much more impressive.
