Local officials are investigating a crash earlier this week that turned fatal.

The accident involved two vehicles in Aiken on Robert M. Bell Parkway at Trolley Line Road on Wednesday morning, according to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables.

One of the drivers was David Emory, 89, who was driving a 1993 Buick sedan. He was taken via EMS to Wellstar MCG, where he was pronounced dead at 9:50 a.m. Saturday.

The investigation is ongoing with Ables' office and South Carolina Highway Patrol
