The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for various regions across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. The forecast indicates scattered thunderstorms and potential severe weather conditions in several areas.

In North Dakota, the regions of Divide, Williams, and McKenzie counties may experience scattered thunderstorms today and tonight, though severe weather is not anticipated. However, in areas like Dunn, Mercer, and Oliver counties, there is a possibility of isolated severe storms this afternoon and evening, with hail and strong winds being the primary concerns. The threat extends into Monday and Tuesday, with isolated strong storms potentially impacting parts of North and Central North Dakota.

In South Dakota, a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for severe thunderstorms has been identified for today, particularly in western parts of the state, including areas such as Harding, Butte, and Rapid City. The primary hazards are wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail. The potential for severe weather continues into Monday, with a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for isolated severe storms.

Wyoming is also under a Red Flag Warning for central parts of the state, with elevated to critical fire weather conditions expected due to dry and windy conditions. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecasted for northern Wyoming, while central and southern regions face heightened fire risks.

Residents in these areas are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and prepare for potential severe weather events. The NWS has stated that spotter activation may be required, particularly in South Dakota and parts of Wyoming.
