Although exploring a music career during his childhood, even performing for former President Barack Obama, Asher HaVon didn’t become a household name until he appeared on the hit show The Voice. Looking to share his voice with the world, HaVon watched as his time on the show exploded. With the singer gaining praise from fans and fellow coaches like Reba McEntire, the singer eventually walked away as the winner of season 25. While thrilled about the victory, HaVon recently revealed just one of the many sacrifices he made to get to the stage.

Since winning The Voice, HaVon kept busy by performing numerous times over the last few months. Excited about the future, the singer took a moment to share one of his performances on the show. While fans loved the video, many were shocked by his caption. He wrote, “My ex made me choose, him or my dreams…. Well, I chose and won twice!!!” He was sure to add hashtags like “Bye Boo” and “Hey Babe.”

Asher HaVon Offers Advice To Future ‘The Voice’ Contestants

Supporting HaVon during his time on The Voice, fans rallied around the singer, with some confused as to why his ex would make him choose. “Young man, you are so special. You have been given a special gift, a huge heart and a voice like an angel. You keep letting your light shine for all to be blessed.” Another comment read, “Why would anyone want to stop a dream & voice as beautiful as yours? No one should ever be held back from soaring. Their insecurity almost dragged you down…”

Watching his stardom grow, HaVon once discussed his time with Reba McEntire and offered some advice to future contestants who find themselves on the show. Not giving details about the coaches, he said, “Believe in your own voice. This show is called The Voice and your voice is The Voice. I thought I needed to almost sound like Adele, but what I found out was it was Asher HaVon’s voice interpreting Adele’s song but still my very much own rendition.”

Also adding some advice to members of the LGBTQIA community, Havon concluded, “It is okay to be you authentically. You are so beautiful. And more people see you than you could ever imagined. You’re going to need some tough skin. So take it with grace and come out like a beautiful flower.”
