Well-Trained British Shorthair Cats Navigate Airport Security Better Than Most Humans

Traveling is never going to be the stress free, easy experience that we all wish it could be, and if you're traveling with a pet, you know there's the potential for that stress to increase tenfold. While dogs aren't always the biggest fans of flying, cats really seem to hate the idea of being cooped up in a carrier and being forced to sit still on a plane (and inside a busy airport), and it makes total sense. It's not like they understand what's going on — and since this is cats we're talking about, even if they did know what's going on, there's a very solid chance they'd hate it even more.

That contributes to what makes this viral TikTok video all the more astonishing to watch. This man is going through airport security simply covered in cats, and they are all more well behaved than most humans I've witnessed as they make their way through TSA checkpoints.

This video comes to us from @louieandtodd, two British Shorthair cats who joined their dad for a bit of traveling — and did so flawlessly.

You really do have to see it to believe it, because this man is walking through a metal detector with one cat perched on his shoulder and the other on his arm, and everyone is remaining chill the entire time. How?!

That's not all, either. The video also shows one of the cats hanging out at a chair at the gate just as casually as if it was their own living room, and they even walked up to total strangers, asking for pets.

Considering many cats would be finding a place to hide, it's no wonder that the comments are filled with people marveling over this footage. One person wrote, "My cat would have had us all on the no fly list."

    Yeah, same.

    More About Louie & Todd

Don't worry if your cats can't do this — Louie and Todd, who have more than 35,000 followers on TikTok alone, have a lot of practice with travel and public outings, and they're even trained to do tricks, so this is kind of their thing.

In one video, Louie shows off his full repertoire of tricks on command, from jumping to spinning on cue (he and Todd can even high five each other... this stuff is next level).

And as for the flying? These boys have seen worse than long lines at the TSA. You should see how calm they remained during a flight that involved 5 hours of turbulence. This is the kind of zen I need when I travel!

My cats would never forgive me if I tried to take them to the airport, but I definitely wouldn't mind running into these two while traveling. They're too talented!
