2024 Cardinals preview with Aaron Schatz

The Arizona Cardinals have upgraded many positions this offseason. How good will they be?

In this edition of the podcast, Aaron Schatz, the inventor of DVOA and the author of the FTN Football Almanac (the 2024 version is available now), joined me and we talked about last season and what the Cardinals and other teams around the league are expected to do.

We learn the Cardinals had the very worst defense in the league in DVOA and it isn’t projected to be much better. Quarterback Kyler Murray played exactly average in his eight games. Their rushing offense was a surprise.

He tells us an interesting fact about projections in 2024 that traditionally teams adding a rookie No. 1 receiver usually see a decrease in offensive production. We will have to see if the Cardinals buck that trend because of horrible receiver play last season.
