NBA Fans in Disbelief After Learning About FIBA Rule at Paris Olympics

    By Cole Sullivan,

NBA fans are used to American basketball, and rightfully so. The rules, structure, style of play and everything else that goes into it. However, FIBA rules are different, and one rule went viral in America after it came into play during the Paris Olympics.

In FIBA, players are credited with an assist if their pass leads to made free throws. Consider, if this were a rule in the NBA, what assist numbers John Stockton , Chris Paul , LeBron James and all of the other elite passers would have.

The men's basketball tournament is in full swing, with Sunday being the second day of group play. In group play, each team plays three games. A team receives two points for a win and one point for a loss. The top two teams from each of the three groups advance. Two other teams advance as wild cards.
