    ODOT announces comstruction projects for July 29-Aug. 2

    The following Ohio Department of Transportation projects are anticipated to affect highways in Athens County between July 29 and Aug. 2. Outlined work is weather permitting. Click on each route to see its location at OHGO.com.

    U.S. 50/Washington Road signal replacement/turn lane installation: A signal replacement and turn lane installation project is taking place at U.S. 50/Washington Road. Estimated Completion: Nov. 1U.S. 50/East State Street resurfacing: A resurfacing project is taking place on U.S. 50 between Della Drive and River Road. Lane closures are place in both directions. Estimated Completion: Aug. 15State Route 690 resurfacing: A resurfacing project is taking place on SR 690, between U.S. 50 and SR 550. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers. Estimated Completion: July 31South Green Drive pedestrian safety improvements: A pedestrian safety improvement project is taking place on South Green Drive. Work includes installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB), bulb outs, and curb ramps. A 10 foot width restriction is in place. Estimated Completion: Aug. 5State Route 144 slope stabilization: A slope stabilization project is taking place on State Route 144, between Mountain Bell Road and State Route 7. One lane is closed. Traffic is being maintained with temporary signals. Estimated Completion: Nov. 1WALLACE O’DOWD WIDLIFE AREA IMPROVEMENTSA gravel road resurfacing and culvert maintenance project is taking place at the Wallace O’Dowd Wildlife Area in Athens County. Road closures are in place.Estimated Completion: September 1STATE ROUTE 690 LANDSLIDE REPAIRA landslide repair project begins on August 5 on SR 690, between Dutch Creek Road and SR 550. One lane will be closed. Traffic will be maintained with temporary signals.Estimated Completion: November 1
