Piers Morgan predicts Harris’s ‘honeymoon’ will soon end due to historically ‘far-left’ record

Piers Morgan argued that Vice President Kamala Harris’s recently strong performance as the 2024 presumptive Democratic nominee will only last “about a week,” citing her record as a Democratic senator .

President Joe Biden announced earlier this month that he is ditching his 2024 reelection bid , with him and multiple other notable Democratic lawmakers giving their endorsements of Harris as the one to fill his spot in the election. Since then, polling data has given Harris a boost in favorability , going from a 35% to 43% rating in about a week’s time.

“She’s getting a fantastically amazing honeymoon,” Morgan said on Fox News’s Saturday Night with Jimmy Failla. “It’s going to last about a week, and then reality will kick in, and Donald Trump will start going very hard as he already is about her record, and her record is she’s literally probably the most far left senator in modern American history.”

During his appearance, Morgan also joked that former President Donald Trump , the Republican nominee for president, is similar to musician Mick Jagger in how both are around 80 years old and are still “great showmen,” despite their age. He noted how Trump went back to doing rallies about a week after he survived an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, which Morgan said was “pretty ballsy and the kind of thing Mick Jagger would do.”

“So yeah, look, I think they’re not completely similar, but there’s definitely a parallel in the sense that if you compare them to Joe Biden, I actually saw Mick Jagger at a cricket match in London last year, and I said, ‘You realize you’re six months younger than the president of the United States,’” Morgan said. “‘You’re prancing around the stage every night for two hours. [Biden] could barely move across the stage.’ So it’s more a parallel about their competency on feet.”

Harris’s first week as the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democratic Party saw her campaign raise $200 million . Besides Biden, notable names who have given their endorsement to Harris include former President Barack Obama, former secretary of state and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

With Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 race setting the stage for a Trump vs Harris matchup, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) has warned that Harris would be “much worse” than Biden’s performance in the White House. Different polls between Harris and Trump have generated different results, with some showing Harris leading Trump and others showing Trump in the lead .
