A South Carolina man won a six-figure jackpot when he played the same numbers from a lottery game a second time, South Carolina Education Lottery said in a news release.

The Upstate man won a $120,000 grand prize when he duplicated the old numbers on a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket, according to the release.

The winning ticket was purchased prior to the June 11 drawing at the Murphy USA gas station/convenience store on West Buffalo Springs Highway in Union, officials said.

The winning numbers from the drawing were 5, 6, 9, 12, and 40.

“It was exciting,” the man said in the release. “And it was a blessing too.”

The winner didn’t provide specific plans for spending his newfound windfall, but said he plans to help others and do a few projects around the house with the payday.

The winner will be allowed to retain some privacy, as South Carolina is one of 11 states — along with Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas and Virginia — that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous .

The odds of winning the top prize in Palmetto Cash 5 are 1-in-850,668, according to the release.

The Murphy USA received a commission of $1,200 for selling the claimed ticket, officials said.

The current jackpot for Palmetto Cash 5 is $190,000 heading into Sunday night’s drawing.
