The exact cause of death for Sinead O'Connor has been established, over a year after her passing. Sinead's death certificate lists chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma as the causes of death . Her former partner John Reynolds registered her death in London this Wednesday.

According to the certificate, Sinead died from "exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma together with low grade lower respiratory tract infection". Earlier in the year, Southwark's Coroner's Court in London ruled that the famed singer of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' passed away due to natural causes.

An official statement confirmed: "This is to confirm that Ms O'Connor died of natural causes. The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death.", reports Dublin Live .

Sinead's passing came a year and a half after the heartbreaking suicide of her son Shane, whom she shared with musician Donal Lunny, at just 17 years old. She leaves behind three other children: Jake, Roisin, and Yeshua.

On the first anniversary of Sinead's death this Friday, it was announced that the controversial new wax figure of her in Dublin will be removed following widespread disapproval.

Critics lambasted the waxwork tribute to the legendary Dublin artist , claiming it bore little resemblance to her. In response, the National Wax Museum has declared it will embark on a new endeavor to craft a more faithful likeness.

The museum released a statement saying: "Paddy Dunning, our museum director and a longtime close friend of Sinead O'Connor, met with the museum team this morning and decided that we at The National Wax Museum Plus can do better. Furthermore, in response to the public's feedback regarding the wax figure, we acknowledge that the current representation did not meet our high standards or the expectations of Sinead's devoted fans."

"We have listened closely to the reactions and agree that the figure does not fully capture Sinead's unique presence and essence as we intended."

They went on to admit that a new wax figure is warranted which will more accurately represent Sinead O'Connor's distinctive persona and iconic status.

They signed off with the promise: "Our team of skilled artists will begin this project immediately, ensuring that every detail is meticulously crafted to celebrate her legacy appropriately."
