Meghan Markle reportedly gave a brief three-word reply to the Queen when she offered her advice upon joining the Royal Family, according to a Royal author. In his new book 'Our King', Robert Jobson writes that the Duchess of Sussex had a private conversation with the Queen, who expressed her happiness that Harry had finally found love and warmly welcomed Meghan into the family.

The Queen then suggested Meghan seek support from Sophie, Countess of Wessex, to which Meghan allegedly responded: "I've got Harry". Jobson claims this response took the Queen by surprise. His book also delves into Kate Middleton's feelings about her public appearance at Windsor with Harry and Meghan following the Queen's death.

He suggests that Kate found the Windsor walk, which took place two days after the Queen passed away at 96, "one of the hardest things she'd ever had to do". While the walkabout may have appeared as a symbol of unity following the loss of the monarchy's figurehead, Jobson alleges that insiders told him this was not the case.

He wrote that such unity was an "illusion" and quoted Catherine as confessing to a senior royal: "Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she'd ever had to do.", reports the Mirror .

According to reports, Charles and William decided they couldn't be alone with Harry following the Sussexes' explosive Oprah Winfrey interview, as reported by the Daily Mail. This comes at a time when relations between the self-exiled royals and The Firm are at an all-time low.

Early last year, Prince Harry released his controversial memoirs Spare, where he repeatedly criticized the Royal Family and its senior members.

Among his claims was an allegation that Prince William physically attacked him on one occasion. In his and Meghan's Netflix documentary released a month earlier, he also criticized King Charles's parenting and took a jab at other male members of the Firm for their marital choices.
