The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) helped move a 600-pound moose spotted in a yard in south Jefferson County.

The moose was looking into windows and taking a break in the yard, according to the JCSO . It took eight people to move the moose, and JCSO animal control officers and deputies helped Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) safely transport the moose back home.

According to CPW , moose are Colorado's largest big game animal. Adults can weigh up to 800 to 1,200 pounds and bulls stand up to six feet at the shoulder. CPW also states that moose are curious creatures, and will approach humans or houses, even looking into windows like this one.

CPW explains that moose can become aggressive, so it's important to understand their behavior. Signs that a moose might become aggressive include laid-back ears, raised hairs on the neck, and licking of the snout. Moose can also get especially aggressive around pets. If a moose does become aggressive or begins to charge, run as fast as you can, and try to put a large object like a boulder, car, or tree, between you and the moose.
