Legendary coach Dawn Staley retracted the decision to not pick Caitlin Clark on the U.S. Women’s National Team at the Paris Olympics and made it clear that if they picked the team all over again, Clark would’ve been on it.

“The way that she’s playing, she would be in really high consideration for making the team because she is playing head and shoulders above a lot of people.”

Staley was an historic piece of the United States Olympic success over the years. She won two gold medals as a player and one as a coach in 2021. She is the first person to win the Naismith Award as both a player and a coach.

She was also one of five committee members that had a say in picking the 12-team roster for the U.S. women’s team, and leaving the projected rookie of the year off the team was one that was extremely scrutinized. However, it seems Clark has shifted Staley’s mind after her recent performance for the Indiana Fever .
