Centennial High School announced its 10th annual Power Night showcase event, a celebration of the impact the Centennial football program has on the lives of student-athletes, a release states.

This weightlifting showcase is open to the public and will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Centennial High School, 14388 N 79th Ave. Power Night will highlight the dedication and resilience of student-athletes as they compete in three weightlifting events: bench press, power clean, and squat.

These events not only demonstrate the athletes' physical ability, but also contribute significantly to their skills and talents, enhancing their prospects for college recruitment and future endeavors.

Centennial’s football team is nationally ranked, which brings considerable attention to the school and its athletes. Events like the Bench Press, Power Clean, and Squat competitions are integral in showcasing their talents to scouts and recruiters, furthering their opportunities for higher education and athletic careers.

"Power Night is more than just a display of physical strength," said Richard Taylor, head football coach at Centennial High School. "It's a celebration of our athletes' commitment to personal growth and team success. We're excited to share this experience with our community and demonstrate the positive impact of our football program."

Core Institute and U.S. Army are partnering in this event.
