‘Not Once Would She Meet With Me’: Kevin McCarthy Complains Kamala Harris Dodged Him While in Congress

Former California congressman Kevin McCarthy said Sunday that, when he was Majority Leader in the House, then Senator and fellow Californian Kamala Harris refused to meet with him – and plenty of other people, too, including her fellow Democrats.

The former Speaker of the House appeared on Sunday’s edition of Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News, during which he and host Mark Levin spoke at length about Vice President Harris, now the presumptive Democratic nominee for president after President Joe Biden stepped aside.

Levin asked McCarthy whether he would agree that Harris is “every damn bit as crazy radical as we think and see and hear,” to which McCarthy said, “she is.”

He spoke about Harris allegedly hiding or lying about Biden’s mental fitness — something most Americans believe was covered up and half believe she was part of covering up — before bringing up Harris’s unwillingness to hold a face-to-face with her fellow California lawmakers.

“When she got elected to the US Senate, I was the Majority Leader. I reached out to meet with her. Not once would she meet with me,” McCarthy complained. “If I talked to the Democrats inside the California delegation, they didn’t care for her because she would not meet.”

He then went on to say that she fosters a hostile work environment and cannot “keep staff.”

MCCARTHY : Let me tell you this. When she got elected to the US Senate, I was the Majority Leader. I reached out to meet with her. Not once would she meet with me. If I talked to the Democrats inside the California delegation, they didn’t care for her because she would not meet.

And let me tell you something else. It is known in California, and it’s known in Washington. It is a heroic work environment if you work for her. Nobody lasts very long. Even as VP, when she didn’t do anything, she could not keep staff. That is a person that the press will never talk about. Her lack her most liberal policies, but more importantly, the work environment she’s around. How she treats people around her is a real indication of what she’ll do in the future.

LEVIN : Yeah, it’s a hundred percent and there’s enough staffers out there, some of them on the record, that the press could interview. They could talk to them.
