GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO, WAWV) – 25-year-old Lawrence County Sheriff Deputy died in a motorcycle accident Saturday night in Greene County.

Shortly before 11 p.m. the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a single vehicle motorcycle accident on East State Road 445, near the ramps of Interstate 69.

According to authorities, a preliminary investigation on scene determined the motorcycle left the roadway for an unknown reason.

Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist was transported to a Bloomington Hospital and pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department has identified the motorcyclist as Brenten Trueblood, of Bedford.

In a Facebook post , the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office asks the community to pray for Trueblood’s family, friends, and department.

“Words cannot express the sorrow we feel for the tragic passing of Deputy Trueblood. He was one of a kind, who brought an unmatched work ethic every day. You will be missed dearly, sir. You can rest easy, we will take it from here. You will never be forgotten.”
