The many NBA fans who have long held out hope of seeing Stephen Curry team up with LeBron James are getting a slightly modified version — one featuring even more superstar power.

Team USA began its pursuit of the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics with an impressive 110-84 victory over Serbia on Sunday. The game featured Curry and James both in the starting lineup, and the longtime Golden State Warriors star also teamed up with his former teammate, Kevin Durant, who sparked the Americans with a monster first half.

Following the Team USA win, in which Durant returned from a calf injury to knock down his first eight shot attempts, Curry spoke about his reunion with his ex-teammate and playing alongside James. The 36-year-old raved about the opportunity, stating he's "having the time of my life."

“That’s the beauty of this experience,” Curry said. “Rekindling some old flames with KD. Playing with guys I’ve never played before like LeBron James and Anthony Davis and the rest of the crew that we have. I’m having the time of my life and enjoying every minute of it.”

American fans would surely echo the sentiment about "enjoying every minute of it," referencing the team's opening win, except for an up-and-down first quarter against Serbia. But thanks to Durant sparking Team USA off the bench with 23 points, James pouring in 21 points with nine assists and seven rebounds and Curry's 11 points on three triples, it didn't take the United States long to hit their Olympic stride.
