Liverpool transfer round-up as Arne Slot targets first signing amid Baris Yilmaz boost

Liverpool may be the only Premier League side yet to sign a player this summer, but there is reason to be optimistic ahead of the start of the new campaign.

While the Reds may have missed out on the likes of Leny Yoro to Manchester United , other negotiations may start to gain momentum now that the major international tournaments have come to a close and players have returned to pre-season training.

And the first bit of good news to discuss is regarding Galatasaray winger Baris Yilmaz , who Liverpool has already been linked with this summer. The Turkish international has been targeted by a number of German clubs but the Reds have been told that they have "nothing to fear" in trying to lure him to Anfield .

Yilmaz is reportedly available for around $30.2million (£23.5million/€27.7million) and it's believed the Reds have something of a free path to his signature. Writing in his Daily Briefing , German journalist Christain Falk claims that nothing concrete has been lodged by the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.

“Dortmund has Baris Alper Yilmaz on their shortlist – that’s true. It’s not concrete at the moment. The rumours about Frankfurt and Leipzig aren’t as concrete as is the case at Dortmund," Falk wrote. “If Dortmund needs a new striker, in case they sold Fullkrug, it would be an option, but I think Liverpool don’t have to be afraid of the German teams!”

Liverpool is also linked with Italy and Juventus winger Federico Chiesa this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his contract with the Serie A giants. Despite reports suggesting Besiktas have made a recent enquiry over the 26-year-old, Chiesa's priority remains the Premier League .

That's according to Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale , who wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "In the last few hours, Besiktas has inquired about Federico Chiesa , but the player's priority - in the event of a farewell - is the Premier League."

This will come as good news to Liverpool, who now know that they stand a good chance with any offer they submit. If Chiesa really is set on a move to England, the Reds will not have to worry about other parties from abroad in securing a deal.

While Liverpool remains keen on a new midfielder and attacker, there is also a keen interest in signing a new defender to replace Joel Matip, who left at the end of last season. The Reds have already missed out on Leny Yoro to arch rivals Man United this summer, while links have emerged to Juventus youngster Dean Huijsen.

Now, however, Liverpool has put a Red Devils target at the top of its transfer wishlist. According to TEAMtalk , Juventus defender Gleison Bremer has become a priority signing for the Reds as they aim to bolster their backline.

The report adds that the club is ready to test Juventus’ resolve with a big offer and would rather act sooner rather than later before the the Brazilian's $64million (£50million) release clause comes into play in 2025.

With regards to outgoings, midfielder Ryan Gravenberch could be on for a shock move away from Anfield just 12 months after signing, with Galatasaray's president reportedly traveling to England in order to try and complete a deal for the Dutchman, according to Turkish outlet Yeni Safak .
