Racing got underway in six events today: singles, doubles, and the first event that will race for medals this year, the quads. With just nine quads allotted by the Olympic quotas this year, the top two crews in those heats went right to the finals, meaning we already have our first Paris 2024 finalists--including a few first time Olympians who are already set to race for medals after one trip down the course.

Maertens is coming off an Olympic gold in the 400 free after winning on night 1.
