WNDU’s annual 16-Pack-A-Backpack campaign has made a significant push to gather essential school supplies for local students, thanks to a robust collaboration with Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, Goodwill, and Meijer. This initiative, held Thursday, is dedicated to ensuring that every child in Michiana starts the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

For just $10, donors can provide a backpack filled with school supplies, helping to set a local student on the path to academic success. The campaign underscores how community partnerships can amplify the impact of each donation, turning $10 into a comprehensive set of supplies that might otherwise cost much more.

Debie Coble, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Michiana, highlighted the importance of the drive during her appearance on WNDU 16 News Now. She discussed how Goodwill leverages donations to maximize their effectiveness and reach those in need. You can view her full conversation with Lauren Moss and Joshua Short in the video above.

Despite the modest donation amount, the campaign’s partners work diligently to stretch each contribution, demonstrating how collective efforts can make a substantial difference. As part of the final push before the school year begins, WNDU hosted a phone bank during Thursday evening’s newscasts, inviting viewers to contribute.

If you missed the phone drive, there's still time to contribute to this vital cause. Donations can be made online by clicking here or using the link provided below.
