FURIOUS customers have spoken out against AMC Theatres after noticing a compulsory $2 delivery fee for in-theatre purchases.

Moviegoers have expressed their frustration on social media at the chain's sneaky hidden cost.

After a TikToker posted a video outing AMC's surprise costs, people flooded to the comments to criticize the move.

Despite placing their order inside the movie venue, the customer's receipt contained a $2 delivery fee.

One popcorn and two fizzy drinks came to almost $24, and this was before the extra fee was added.

"Pretty weak move AMC Movie Theatres," TikToker KiknTiger wrote in a caption accompanying the video.

"Delivery fee INSIDE a movie theatre is insane," he added.

Reactions in the comments of this TikTok shared their shock.

"Sounds like they don't want me to go see movies," one said.

"Add to the list of reasons why I never go to the movies anymore," another person wrote.

As many Americans struggle with rising inflation, this added fee may be another reason they choose to watch a movie at home instead of visiting a movie theatre.

AMC Theatres came close to filing for bankruptcy in recent years, but managed to stay afloat.

This hidden delivery fee, however, may make customers think twice about visiting the cinema.

"Oh wow. Didn't know they were doing that. Another reason to chill at home," another comment read.

"$27 for two sodas and a popcorn. Or you could get that at 7-11 for like $3 and stay home," a similar comment said.

It appears that moviegoers are not happy about these added fees.

Movie theatres are notoriously known for their overpriced food and drinks, and this delivery fee will only make customers' bills more expensive.

However, other customers have suggested the tactics they use to work around these high costs.

"Just bring your own food in. They never check. You can literally bring in a bag full of food and drinks," one user said.

The U.S. Sun have approached AMC Theatre's for a comment.

Moviegoers have compared the added fee to pricing from food delivery services, where customers must pay a few extra dollars to get their goods brought to their door.

AMC's extra fee, however, makes less sense to customers as they purchase food and drink items inside the movie theatre.

"Imagine if restaurants charged a delivery fee," a frustrated user wrote.
