    Knoxville-area's best receivers in 2024 Tennessee high school football season

    As teams get set for scrimmages now is as good a time to examine the best players at each position.

    Here's a look at the top wide receivers and tight ends to watch in the Knoxville area entering the 2024 TSSAA football season.

    Zaydyn Anderson

    Greeneville, Jr.

    Anderson had 18 catches for 432 yards and four touchdowns in 2023. He had 527 all-purpose yards.

    Tory Beaufort

    Bearden, Jr.

    Beaufort had 51 catches for 559 yards and six touchdowns. He also had 846 punt and kick return yards and two touchdowns. He was the Region 2-6A Special Teams Player of the Year and has offers from Memphis, Miami (Ohio) and Marshall, among others.

    Antwain Burdine Jr.

    Knoxville West, Sr.

    Burdine had 21 catches for 209 yards and two touchdowns. He has offers from the University of Virginia's College at Wise, the University of the Cumberlands and North Carolina Pembroke.

    Landon Collins

    Farragut, Sr.

    Collins had 315 total yards and three touchdowns. He has offers from East Tennessee State, Middle Tennessee State, Furman, Emory & Henry, etc.

    Malik Howard

    Oak Ridge, So.

    Howard has offers from Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Indiana.

    Will Kelley

    Christian Academy of Knoxville, Sr.

    Kelly had 49 receptions for 570 yards and nine touchdowns. He has an offer from UVA-Wise.

    Tyreek King

    Knoxville Catholic, Jr.

    King is the No. 3 player in the state, according to 247Sports Composite . He had 63 catches for 1,125 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He made the Division II-AAA East All-Region team and has offers from Tennessee , Purdue, Alabama, Ole Miss and Auburn, among others.

    Deameion Leavell

    Clinton, Jr.

    Leavell had 31 catches for 428 yards and two touchdowns and 169 kick return yards, plus two interceptions on defense. He has offers from Austin Peay, Miami (Ohio), Eastern Kentucky, Toledo, Memphis, East Tennessee State and Marshall.

    Bryson Maddox

    Clinton, Jr.

    Maddox had 30 catches for 586 yards and six touchdowns. He has offers from Miami (Ohio) Austin Peay, Memphis, Akron and East Tennessee State.

    Eli Owens

    Alcoa, Sr.

    Owens, the No. 15 player in the state and the No. 23 tight end in the country , had 35 receptions for 415 yards with eight touchdowns as a junior. The Michigan commit helped lead Alcoa to its ninth consecutive Class 3A state championship.

    Will Pressley

    Oak Ridge, Jr.

    Pressley had 36 catches for 646 yards and six touchdowns. He has offers from Austin Peay and the University of Tennessee at Martin.

    Landon Quinney

    Wartburg Central, Sr.

    Quinney had 74 catches for 1,199 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was the Region 2-2A Back of the Year.

    Drew Ross

    Halls, Sr.

    The tight end had 24 receptions for 422 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He has an offer from Emory & Henry and the University of Virginia's College at Wise.

    Daniel Sackie

    Knoxville Central, Sr.

    The tight end had 28 catches for 346 yards and five touchdowns. He has an offer from McDougle Technical Institute and Maryville College.

    Derick Smith Jr.

    Fulton, Sr.

    Smith, a two-time All-Region 2-4A player, had 36 catches for 571 yards and eight touchdowns. He had 908 all-purpose yards.

    Greg Tate III

    Knoxville Webb, Jr.

    Tate had 36 catches for 417 yards and eight touchdowns; on defense, he had 29 tackles and five interceptions. He has offers from Eastern Kentucky, Marshall and Toledo.
