Bettors around the world have taken the "vibe shift" in the presidential race to the sports book.

The action, which U.S. bookmakers cannot legally take part in, between presumptive Democratic nominee Vice-President Kamala Harris and Republican nominee Donald Trump narrowed as the race slipped under 100 days until election day.

Harris pulled closer to Trump at the books as she has assumed the presumptive nomination and through her first full week of campaigning .

Harris started the race +200 at U.K. bookmaker Bet365 but shortened her odds to +137 one-week in. Trump began the race against Harris at -200 at Bet365 but stands at -175 as of Monday. The odds for both candidates have moved in similar ways at all three offshore books USA TODAY has regularly surveyed .

Here are the odds in the 2024 general election as of July 29:

How accurate have betting odds been in past Presidential elections?

The betting favorite has only lost twice since 1866 , according to the Conversation.

The two upsets came in 1948, when Harry Truman (D) beat eight to one odds to defeat Thomas Dewey (R), and in 2016, when Trump overcame seven to two odds to beat Hillary Clinton (D).

Biden was the betting favorite in the 2020 race, holding the pole position with Oddscheker from May through November.
