Simone Biles returned with a bang at the Olympics and has already created history. The Olympic gymnast astonished Ariana Grande and Snoop Dogg with her “insane” signature move during the world sporting event.

On Sunday, Simone Biles persevered through calf pain to record a solid all-around score and showcase the skills that have made her one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

Biles, who withdrew from multiple events at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago due to mental health concerns, faced additional challenges this time around with a nagging calf injury. Despite the physical setback, she displayed remarkable resilience, pushing her body to its limits to deliver awe-inspiring routines.

Biles landed awkwardly while warming up for her floor routine. She left the arena before returning to have her lower left leg heavily taped. This came after she performed a faultless balance beam routine with the highest score of 14.733, the highest on the apparatus.

Despite her obvious discomfort and a noticeable limp, she was still able to perform with her usual force on all other apparatuses, achieving impressive scores of 15.800 on the vault, 14.433 on the uneven bars, and 14.600 on the floor.

The judges and audience were in complete awe of Biles’s incredible skill as she executed a triple flip.

Her teammate Suni Lee trailed her by more than three points with an overall score of 59.566, the highest thus far. However, she and the USA team will be guaranteed a spot in the finals after each nation has finished its qualifying round.

After the competition, Biles’ coach, Cecile Landi, told reporters that the calf pain she had been experiencing a few weeks before Paris had returned during Sunday’s competition.

With a score of 15.800, the 27-year-old successfully executed the Biles II vault and the Yurchenko double pike.

Simone Biles became the first woman to land the vault in an Olympic competition!
