We’re living in an age of extreme temperatures. The summer of 2023 was the hottest in 2,000 years, in some parts of the world, as reported by CBS News . Though we may most typically associate climate change with heat, climate change is also directly responsible for certain icy weather events. It can, for example, “supercharge” snowstorms, as the New York Times put it.
And there’s a lot to be said for places with mild winters. Not only are they more inviting because you can enjoy the outdoors even during the gray months, but living in such a location can mean less wear-and-tear on your home and your car during the chilliest season.
Using data from World Population Review , GOBankingRates found the seven states with the warmest winters. Then, sourcing data from Zillow, GOBankingRates found out the average home price in each state. Then, using data from RentCafe, GOBankingRates found out the cost of living , relative to the national average. For cost of living data pertaining to Hawaii, GOBankingRates used data from Payscale.
