1 dead in fatal wreck in Dallam County

DALLAM, COUNTY (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that one person is dead after a fatal wreck that happened Saturday afternoon 18 miles southwest of Texline.

According to DPS, a Honda four-wheeler was northbound on FM 296. For an unknown reason, the vehicle traveled off the east side of the roadway into the ditch. The vehicle entered a storm drain where it bottomed out, causing Faye Zeiset, 43, to be ejected.

DPS said Zeiset was pronounced dead at the scene by Dallam County Judge Wes Ritchey.

DPS said the driver of the four-wheeler was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The crash is still under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
