Daley and diving partner Noah Williams secured silver in the 10m synchronised platform event

The pair pulled off a succession of near-perfect dives to land second place, behind China’s Lian Junjie and Yang Hao who took gold.

Shortly after receiving their medals, Daley was interviewed by the British broadcaster.

Daley was speaking on his return to diving when his 15-month-old son Phoenix interrupted their chat.

He said: “Once you’re an athlete, you know what you need to do, and you have to train smarter.

“You have to make sure you prioritise things in your life as well as in the pool.

“A happy athlete is an athlete that dives well – and I was getting emotional before the competition because that’s when I was at my happiest and they’ve got…”

He stopped speaking for a second and looked down when he noticed his son had thrown his juice cup on the floor.

Explaining what happened behind the camera, he said: “Phoenix is trying to kill people by throwing his juice cup at people.”

While his diving partner Williams burst into laughter Daley shot his son a stern look in response to the adorable incident.

Both his sons Phoenix and Robbie watched on in the crowd with his American movie producer husband Dustin Lance Black.

The Team GB superstar is now a FIVE-TIME Olympic medallist.

And he revealed it was his eldest Robbie , six, who pleaded with him to carry on diving after winning gold and bronze in Tokyo in 2021.

When questioned about his participation in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Daley humbly refrained from providing a definitive response.

He continued: “I don’t know. I think for right now I want to enjoy today and we will see what the future holds.”
