Former NFL star Antonio Brown has once again caused a stir with his activity on social media, as he took a shot at Dwyane Wade and his trans daughter Zaya. After Team USA's 110-84 win over Serbia on Sunday at the Olympics, Wade had taken to X to state that LeBron James' pronouns are he/him.
"Y’all know the pronouns: HE/HIM."
Wade was calling the game for NBC with Noah Eagle and had brought up the pronouns a few times during the broadcast. He was just joking around and celebrating LeBron's impressive outing after the game when he made this post. When Brown came across that statement, though, he decided to take a completely unnecessary shot at Wade and Zaya.
"Now do your sons pronouns."
Zaya came out as transgender back in 2020 and has unfortunately been attacked on social media quite a lot since then. Fortunately, she has received full support from her family but that has rubbed many the wrong way as well. Wade hasn't let the criticism get to him, though. As any good parent, he has stood by his child and will continue to do so in the future.
As for Brown, he shows absolutely no signs of stopping his controversial acts. He has been out of control over the last few years since he was basically kicked out of the NFL in 2022. There has been talk about Brown having chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) from his time in the NFL and he has made a mockery of those claims by using the acronym CTESPN in his social media posts as well.

Miami is often referred to as Wade County, thanks to his impact on the area, but the 42-year-old no longer has any interest in living there. Wade revealed he left Miami because of the anti-LGBTQ+ laws in Florida.
“I love Miami," Wade said. "Miami has done so much for me, Florida has done so much for me. I love so many people there, so much of the fans for showing us love. But the last couple years, the laws, the politics has really become this big conversation. This unsafe conversation. And it’s unsafe for my daughter, it’s unsafe for all the young kids, and the youth, and the adults and the elders in the trans community. So for us, as much as I love that city and as much as I’m always going to be a part of it, for the safety of my family, that’s what it was for me. I couldn’t move back."
It is really unfortunate how things have panned out in a way that Wade can no longer feel comfortable staying in Florida. Some might call it an overreaction, but someone like Zaya won't feel welcomed in the state. Moving out was the right thing to do for her sake and Wade should be applauded for it.
