ENGLEWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) — The City of Englewood announced that a member of its city council has died.

In 2019, Adrienne Draper became a council member on the Englewood city council, earning the distinction of being the youngest female elected official in Montgomery County’s history. She was re-elected to the position in 2021.

According to a press release from the City of Englewood, during her time on the city council, Draper “contributed great input to the city through her young perspective and experience with county politics.”

Draper grew up in Englewood, graduating from Northmont High School.

Draper started taking classes at Sinclair before eventually transferring to Wright State University and earning a degree in Marketing and a masters in Public Administration. Draper also attended law school at the University of Dayton.

Also in 2021, Draper was hired as the Executive Assistant and Marketing Coordinator for the Montgomery County Treasurer’s office. In that position she led numerous projects and was pivotal in the technical advancement and efficiency of the office.

Montgomery County Treasurer John McManus says that he will cherish Draper’s memory for the rest of his life.

I first met Adrienne many years ago, and I’ve had the joy of watching her soar through life with boundless determination. In her short 26 years, she reached tremendous heights. She was a brilliant scholar, an accomplished elected official, a gifted workplace innovator, a public servant, and a dear friend that I will never forget. I will mourn her loss, but I will always be happy knowing that her gifts, her example, and her memory will live on in the lives and the organizations that were fortunate enough to cross her path. We will miss our friend, Adrienne
