Crawling storms dumped healthy rains across Minnesota on Sunday into Monday morning and that was the start of what promises to be a warm and humid week with numerous storm chances.

"Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon and overnight hours nearly every day this week," the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities says.

"Temperatures will remain in the mid 80s to near 90 with dew points in the mid to upper 60s, making for a muggy start to August."

Monday should be dry across most of Minnesota all day. Storm chances return late Monday night into the overnight hours before drying out during the day Tuesday only to have more showers and storms redevelop Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Here's how the HRRR model shows the radar playing out from 10 p.m. Monday to noon Tuesday.

The strongest storms of the week could be ones that develop Wednesday.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed a chunk of southern Minnesota in a slight risk (level 2 of 5 on the severe scale) for severe weather on Wednesday, noting that storms will initially be supercells that likely form into a line.
