GAMERS have been very vocal in 2024, and they don’t hesitate to give negative feedback when there is something they don’t like.

One of the major issues in gaming this year is many companies requiring players to sign in to other platforms.

Sony has been the biggest target of this negative feedback, as gamers review-bombed both Ghost of Tsushima and Helldivers 2.

Both titles were going to require a PlayStation account in order to access them on Steam, and the games were flooded with negative reviews.

Sony walked back the decision to require a PSN account for Helldivers 2, and Steam refunded Ghost of Tsushima players who did not have access to PSN.

Earth Defense Force 6 is the latest game to be hit with negative player feedback due to its own account requirements.

The studio announced that even people playing on Steam would require an account with competitor Epic Games if they wanted to access the game.

EDF6 was immediately review-bombed on Steam with thousands of negative comments, and the development team has now released a statement concerning the feedback.

The statement reads “Thank you for your feedback on Earth Defense Force 6.

“The EDF6 development team for Steam is reviewing and planning changes to the specification that requires sign in to Epic Games account, which has received the most feedback.

“At this time, we are unable to provide specifics on how much time this will take, but we will continue to work on it as we address the feedback we have received.”

While this statement is promising, it does not explicitly say that the studio will remove the Epic Games account requirement.
