    How much rain impacted central Iowa overnight

    Thunderstorms continued to develop and redevelop in the same areas overnight ahead of a very hot and humid week ahead. We had some extreme rain totals in some parts of Iowa by early Monday.

    Here’s a list of 24-hour totals through 7 AM Monday:

    • Ackwork 4.8″
    • Indianola 4.4″
    • Ottumwa 2.79″
    • Albia 2.31″
    • Webster City 1.9″
    • Knoxville 1.68″
    • Oskaloosa 1.64″
    • Pella 1.07″
    • Boone 1.06″
    • Ames 0.9″
    • Iowa Falls 0.8″
    • Hampton 0.71″
    • Clarion 0.56″
    • Des Moines 0.55″
    • Algona 0.5″
    • Fort Dodge 0.39″
    • Ankeny 0.29″
    • Newton 0.29″

    More rain and thunderstorms are expected in the overnight hours during the work week ahead. There is a risk some of the storms may be severe early Tuesday morning and again Wednesday late night.
