A lucky Mega Millions player in Orange County won nearly half a million dollars in Friday night’s drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Palma Liquor on La Palma Avenue in the City of La Palma, according to the California Lottery website .

The unknown winner matched 5 of 5 numbers for a prize of $415,055 but missed out on the jackpot of more than $300 million by missing the Mega number.

The Mega Millions numbers drawn Friday were 2, 14, 33, 58 and 65 with a Mega number of 3.

Last week, Lottery officials said a man won $1 million when he bought a Multiplier Craze Scratchers ticket while running errands in Whittier .

“The lucky number was eight. I saw the zeros and thought I might have won $100. I’ve never won anything large like that. It took a minute for it to really settle in,” the man, Saul Montero, said.

Montero said his million-dollar windfall would go toward paying off a house and possibly buying a new car.
