The 2021 Netflix mystery thriller Haseen Dillruba left the viewers on the edge of their seats. Starring Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, and Harshwardhan Rane in the lead roles, the movie follows the story of Rani and Rishu who embark on a new phase of their lives after getting married. However, things soon change when Neel enters their lives. The upcoming sequel, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, will follow the events of its precursor. Moreover, it also features some exciting additions to its cast.

Besides Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey, the upcoming film features Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergil in crucial roles. More details about their characters are below.

Taapsee Pannu is all set to reprise her role as the notorious Rani Kashyap. Moreover, Vikrant Massey will be seen returning as Rishabh Saxena. Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba will feature another third party enter their relationship. Sunny Kaushal’s naive character Abhimanyu will round out the new love triangle. Per the movie’s trailer , Abhimanyu falls for Rani and follows her everywhere in Agra.

Another exciting addition to the cast is Jimmy Shergil, who plays the role of Neel’s uncle, Mrityunjay. An interesting interrogation is expected to take place in the upcoming film as he investigates Neel’s disappearance. Aditya Srivastava is also reprising his role as Kishore Rawat.

While the movie is just a few days away from arriving on the streaming giant Netflix, Taapsee Pannu recently opened up about her character Rani in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. In an interview with News18 , she defended Rani and refused to believe that she is toxic. The actress said, “Just because you feel that she’s toxic? (laughs) The definition of ‘alpha’ is becoming a little warped. People have started associating some kind of glorification with this word. I haven’t viewed Rani as an alpha.”

Taapsee continued, “I view her as someone who doesn’t always make the right decisions but also owns up to her mistakes and is ready to pay the price for that. She never tried to portray her flaws with a heroic colour. One may call her alpha or sigma but I don’t think she’s a toxic protagonist. That’s why I’m very happy and proud that I played her and I don’t regret it. People who are viewing her from a myopic lens should change their lens right away.”
