WWE Free Agency: MVP confirms he will not return once his contract expires, won’t retire either

Things are rapidly speeding toward a divorce for WWE and MVP. The former superstar turned mastermind mic man has been rumored as one who will choose to not renew his contract with the promotion once it meets its end, and he has now confirmed that to be true.

MVP popped up like a Jack in the Box at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport XI recently to make his declaration, telling it directly to Barnett’s face before challenging him to a match at a future Bloodsport event.

“My contract with a company whose name I won’t mention is about to expire,” he said. “And I’m not going back. And I’m not ready to retire.”

MVP has been mostly absent from WWE programming as of late and hasn’t been booked to wrestle since 2022, and his segments/bookings as mic man for Omos have vaporized (as has Omos’ bookings).

His black belt in jiu-jitsu aside, MVP’s future in wrestling — seeing as he has no plans on retiring — could very well lead him to AEW alongside “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley, who is also reportedly fed up with WWE and looking for other pastures as his contract gets ready to expire.

Could the two reunite elsewhere, be it AEW or another promotion, to rebuild “The Hurt Business”, a faction that helped propel them both to superstardom in the industry?

    Stay tuned.
