Serendipity’s Embrace episode 3 aired on Monday, July 29, 2024, on tvN and Viki. It follows the story of two high schoolmates meeting each other by coincidence after 10 years. One of them is the other’s first love. The romance K-drama stars Kim So-Hyun as Lee Hong-Ju and Chae Jong-Hyeop as Kang Hu-Yeong.

In the previous episode , Hong-Ju and Hu-Yeong had a fun day, followed by a swoon-worthy moment. While she had no idea about his feelings, he decided to postpone his plans of moving to the US. Later, her ex Bang Jun-Oh (Yun Ji-On) returned to her life. Hu-Yeong helped Hong-Ju from an awkward and tense situation.

The Serendipity’s Embrace episode 3 begins with the lead pair leaving Jun-Oh surprised as they walk out hand-in-hand. Hong-Ju and Hu-Yeong hide from her ex until he leaves. Meanwhile, Hu-Yeong looks happy as she is still holding his hands.

Serendipity’s Embrace episode 3 further shows that Hong-Ju is forced to work with Jun-Oh on a company project. Meanwhile, Hu-Yeong is shocked to learn that Hong-Ju’s ex is the same person she used to dream about in high school. In the past, he knew that she was writer Jun-Oh’s fan.

A flashback shows how Hu-Yeong missed a good opportunity for Hong-Ju, who skipped school to meet Jun-Oh. Coming back to the present, he becomes frustrated learning about his first love’s dating history. The two bump into each other at night but Hu-Yeong looks irritated. He has to leave for the US soon and is conflicted about his feelings after the Jun-Oh incident.

Hong-Ju treats Hu-Yeong with fried chicken but they are not alone at the restaurant. Her best friend Kim Hye-Ji (Kim Da-Som) is with them. She has always had a huge crush on Hu-Yeong and tries her luck once again in the present. But, after witnessing Hong-Ju and Hu-Yeong’s argument, she discovers his feelings for the former.

The latter leaves the two alone. However, things get awkward between Hye-Ji and Hu-Yeong after she learns about his first love. She asks her crush if he looked for Hong-Ju once he returned to South Korea. He replies that their encounter was a coincidence. Hye-Ji then points out a series of their encounters and questions if they all are coincidences.

The next day, Hong-Ju gives a green signal to her boss about her project with her ex. On the other hand, Hu-Yeong decides to leave for the US without meeting Hong-Ju.

In Serendipity’s Embrace episode 3, Hu-Yeong recalls his high school memories with Hong-Ju while he heads off to the airport. He comes back to reality when Hye-Ji calls him. She informs him that Hong-Ju has met with an accident. Hu-Yeong doesn’t give a second thought and decides to miss his flight for her.

Hu-Yeong rushes to the hospital and sees a wounded Hong-Ju lying on a bed. When she wakes up, she apologizes to Hu-Yeong for disturbing his schedule. She tells him to leave, claiming she can handle everything. This makes him annoyed and he asks, “Why do you keep telling me to go? Where would I go?” Hong-Ju replies that her injury is not a big deal, so why he is getting angry. Hu-Yeong looks hurt and exclaims, “Not a big deal?”

He then takes Hong-Ju by surprise as he places her hand on his chest. Hu-Yeong lets her feel his heartbeat and questions, “You still think this isn’t a big deal?” Will Hong-Ju get a clue about his feelings this time? Find out in the next episode.
