Central Wisconsin could see thunderstorms Monday afternoon that include strong winds and lightning, but it is unlikely the area will get damaging hail or tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

The chance for strong storms Tuesday is a little bit higher, but even then the chance for strong storms is low, said Gus Kaiser, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

Humidity will remain high through at least the middle of the week and could persist through the end of the week, Kaiser said. The heat index could get into the low 90s, but shouldn't reach the middle or upper 90s, he said. A heat index is what the temperature feels like to the human body.

The elderly and people with a predisposition to be effected by the heat should take extra precautions, Kaiser said. They should make sure to stay hydrated and avoid going outdoors when the heat index is at its highest, during mid-day.
