    Kanawha County structure fire now under control

    (UPDATE: 12:12 P.M. Monday, July 29) – Dispatchers say no one has been injured in a fire in the West Side area near St. Albans.

    According to dispatchers, the fire is now under control.

    The West Side fire chief told WOWK 13 News no one was home at the time of the fire. The chief said the fire appeared to have been an electrical fire in the attic.

    According to the chief, there were several animals inside the home, but all of them were rescued and are okay.


    KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – First responders are on the scene of a structure fire in Kanawha County.

    According to Kanawha County Metro 911, the fire broke out shortly around 11:15 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Austin Drive and MacCorkle Avenue in the area of West Side, just outside of St. Albans.

    WOWK 13 News has a crew heading to the scene. This is a developing story and WOWK 13 News will update this article as more information becomes available.

    The alert for this fire comes within 15 minutes of a 911 alert for a house fire on Charleston’s West Side. WOWK 13 News is also on the scene of that fire.
