Did Jason Kelce Cheat To Beat Women’s USA Rugby Player Nicole Heavirland In Arm Wrestling?

    Nicole Heavirland

Jason Kelce may have been an all-pro center in the NFL, but those accolades don’t transfer over to the world of arm wrestling.

A video went viral over the weekend showing the former Philadelphia Eagle taking on USA Women’s Rugby star Nicole Heavirland in an arm wrestling competition. Unfortunately, the wrestling of arms is not an Olympic sport (yet), though it certainly looked like it was when these two world class athletes sat down for a head-to-head feat of strength.

A beret-wearing Kelce and an absolutely ripped Heavirland got set up on what looks to be a coffee table and prepared to go to war – as soon as the signal was given to begin. Once they got going, it looked to be a rather fair fight, and you can definitely say that Jason Kelce was undoubtedly tested by the rugby star.

Notice how the former footballer was heavily utilizing his off hand to stabilize (possibly cheating) himself in order to ultimately win the arm wrestling match:

Almost everyone online has noticed how close the matchup was, and how Kelce’s left arm seemed to be doing a lot of the work. So much so that when Nicole Heavirland posted the video on her social media, she captioned it with:

“Jason Kelce… holding on to that table a little bit?”

Just a phenomenal way to call out a competitor and somehow win even though you lost.

Jason Kelce wasn’t taking the slander lying down, and appears to have referred to the official rules of arm wrestling to defend himself against all of the cheating allegations:

“Holding onto something with your off hand is completely within the rules of the International federation of Arm Wrestling.”

I think we deserve a rematch, where the rules are clearly established and Heavirland has a chance to also plant herself with her off hand. Like I said, it’s not an official Olympic sport, but with as heated as this matchup got, arm wrestling certainly deserves some Olympic recognition.
