Madden NFL 25 doesn't seem to think 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk is worthy of the Amon-Ra St. Brown contract

Brandon Aiyuk isn't practicing at training camp as his contract stand-off with the San Francisco 49ers continues. That impasse seemingly centers around the 49ers' lack of willingness to give him a deal that beats the one given to Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The Niners are reported to have offered Aiyuk a deal in the region of $26 million annually. Aiyuk is said to want a contract better than the four-year, $120 million deal the Lions gave to St. Brown. That is reportedly worth $28 million annually over the first three years.

San Francisco has, as yet, been unwilling to budge, leading Aiyuk to request a trade ahead of training camp. The 49ers' stance received some backing on Monday with the release of the wide receiver player ratings for Madden NFL 25.

Aiyuk features in the top 10 with a 91 overall. However, that puts him some way behind St. Brown, who received a 95 overall.

The developers at EA Sports clearly at this point do not believe Aiyuk is on the same level as St. Brown.

That will, of course, be of absolutely no concern to Aiyuk, who would back himself to justify any contract the 49ers give him if and when this elongated saga comes to an end.

An ascending talent who, still only 26, would appear to have his best years ahead of him after a second-team All-Pro campaign in 2023, Aiyuk will hope to soon receive what he believes he is worth and then make the 49ers look silly for waiting to pay him with a stellar 2024 that would likely force EA to quickly improve his rating.
