Happy birthday, Kristin Chenoweth! The Tony-winning Broadway star celebrated her big day July 24 in the best way possible for a theatrical diva: onstage after taking her bow, starring in the world premiere musical The Queen of Versailles. Currently playing a Broadway-aimed run at Boston's Colonial Theatre, the show reunites Chenoweth with her Wicked songwriter, Stephen Schwartz.

The 2024/25 Broadway season is here at last, with many new productions set to arrive before the end of the year. For eight of those productions (Home, The Roommate, Yellow Face, McNeal, Our Town, Left on Tenth, Romeo + Juliet, and Gypsy), Broadway is the first stop, but the other twelve have have already enjoyed runs all over the world. Where Broadway's Newest Shows Got Their Start

In April 2024, Carnegie Hall welcomed Broadway legend and three-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone back for “A Life in Notes”!. The sold-out show featured musical reflections on her youth, coming of age, and eventual success in both her professional and personal lives—which of course, included many iconic renditions of staples like “The Ladies Who Lunch” from Sondheim’s “Company.”

The York Theatre Company has revealed its 2024 Fall Season. To begin, a “New2NY” series will feature: Now Comes the Fun Part (The How-the-f*#k-did-I-get-this-old Musical) (August 28-September 1), followed by Twist of Fate (September 7-15), Monte Cristo (September 23-October 1), and InunDATEd (October 4-13). Following the New2NY series will be the World Premiere of Welcome to the Big Dipper (November 19-December 29). All performances will take place at The Theater at St. Jean’s.

Dolphin Theatre’s production of Agatha Christie's Black Coffee is an excellent antidote to the mid-winter blues. Directed by Glenda Pearce; her vast experience and meticulous attention to detail in both set design and costume has created a visual feast for the audience, transporting them effortlessly into the 1928 world of intrigue and suspense. Dolphin Theatre has a reputation for great sets and costuming but they have surpassed their own high standards with this production. Additional to this is the original music underscore - this really helps to keep the pace and emotional colour of the play. Bravo to Jake La Jeunesse for composing these original works.
