Hulu + Live TV recently announced that they will be forgoing the government agency’s network. A subscriber shared a screenshot on X of the email they received with the news, which revealed that the streamer “will no longer have the rights to distribute the NASA channel that was previously included with your Live TV plan.”

In response to the news, fans have called out Hulu, highlighting that the price of the service — currently starting at $75.99/month — does not appear to be decreasing.

“Will there be a discount since we can no longer access to NASA channel?” one user wrote , in part. “I expect crickets.”

“Your subscription price of course will not go down,” another lamented.

As noted by Cord Cutters News , the announcement seemingly coincides with”NASA’s recent launch of a new, free version of the NASA channel,” which viewers can access through an app.

The NASA channel will no longer be available to watch on Hulu starting Aug. 28, 2024.

According to NASA’s official website, their “redesigned NASA App unlocks access to the new NASA+ video streaming service, plus all the latest NASA images, news, mission information, podcasts, and interactive augmented reality experiences to explore — putting the universe at your fingertips!”

The same web page details that NASA+ does not require a subscription, and grants access to “all of NASA’s official live coverage and original on-demand video series.”

Among the app’s other features are news, pictures, and other updates surrounding the government agency’s missions.
