    Oil and produced water released in McKenzie County spill

    MCKENZIE COUNTY, ND ( KXNET ) — Both produced water and oil were released in McKenzie County after a spill caused by malfunctioning equipment.

    According to the ND Oil and Gas Division, the group was notified of an oil release on Wednesday, July 24, at the Lone Beaver 2-1-17TFH well location by ConocoPhillips.

    The company stated roughly 798 barrels of produced water and two barrels of oil were spilled due to an equipment malfunction. All products were contained on location, and cleanup is underway.

    The company reports all barrels have been recovered. A state inspector has arrived at the location, and will monitor any additional cleanup.
