The 27-year-old Biles had her leg taped inside Bercy Arena before returning to the competition to put up top marks on the floor (14.600) and vault (15.300), ultimately posting the highest all-around score of 59.566.

Team USA, which is also comprised of Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa “Suni” Lee and New Jersey native Hezly Rivera , placed first with a score of 172.296 in the qualifiers.
Leading up to the Paris Games, team leaders pondered holding Biles out of the uneven bars in the team final to give her a reprieve. She will be part of every event in the competition, which features three gymnasts competing and all three scores counting, according to the Associated Press .
Biles is making her anticipated return to the Olympic stage following her bout with the “twisties” during the 2021 Tokyo Games.
She withdrew from events after experiencing the phenomenon, when a gymnast can lose a sense of where they are mid-air which can potentially result in a dangerous landing.
Biles and Team USA won silver in the team event in Tokyo.
She previously won gold in the team final at the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016, also collecting gold in the all-around, vault and floor exercise.
