ST. LOUIS – After more than 19 years in business, the Scottish Arms closed its doors for the last time on Sunday evening.

In a statement, owner Ally Nisbet said they had been working on an ownership change that would have kept the popular Central West End pub open, but that deal fell through at the last minute.

“From the day we opened in May 2005, The Scottish Arms has been more than just a restaurant; it has been a gathering place for friends, families, and our cherished regulars,” Nisbet wrote. “Our goal was always to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where the community could come together to enjoy good food, drink, and company. We have been incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve you, our loyal patrons, and to be a part of your lives.”

Nisbet thanked general manager Michael Cline and chefs Kristin Smart and Rico Holts for their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to making sure the customers received extraordinary service and food over the years.

The statement did not explain why the pub was closing, but Nisbet said he would continue to solicit offers for new owners or investors interested in taking over the Scottish Arms by email at scottisharms.contact.ally@gmail.com .
