74th ‘Fairfax County 4-H Fair and Carnival’ returns with rides, games, and family fun

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — If you are looking to enjoy time with family and loved ones, the 74th “Fairfax County 4-H Fair and Carnival” is returning for some “old-fashioned fun.”

The four-day fair kicks off on Aug. 1 at the Frying Pan Farm Park with carnival games, rides, farm animals, live entertainment, tractor demos and more.

Each year, Fairfax County Park Authority staff and the county’s 4-H members work together to bring the event to life. The fair highlights the work of the 4-H members, America’s largest youth development organization, through unique exhibits.

From animal exhibits to funnel cakes and rides on the Ferris wheel, the 74th Fairfax County 4-H Fair and Carnival will follow this schedule:

Thursday

• Carnival 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.- 8 p.m.
• 4-H Exhibit Drop off 5 p.m.- 7 p.m.

Friday

• Carnival 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
• 4-H Exhibit Drop off 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
• Big Truck Night 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
• $10 parking fee starts at 4 p.m.)

Saturday

• 4-H Opening Ceremony, 10 a.m.
• Carnival 10 a.m.- 10 p.m. $10 parking fee
• 4-H Exhibits, Activities and Farm Demos 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Sunday

• Carnival 10 a.m.-7 p.m. $10 parking fee
• 4-H Exhibits, Activities and Farm Demos 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• 4-H Closing Ceremony, 4 p.m.

Organizers said carnival rides require wristbands which can be purchased online or at the fair. Unlimited ride wristbands can be purchased for Thursday and Friday for $20 online. Wristbands will be $25 at the gate, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

All wristbands are good for one day.

Regular ticket prices for carnival rides range from $1.25 to $60.
