Sabrina Carpenter's hit song Please Please Please, which was criticized for the inclusion of one supposedly anti-Irish lyric , remains Ireland's #1 song in the charts.

The song, released earlier this summer, was seen as a warning from Carpenter to Keoghan not to misbehave during their relationship, with the video even starring her real-life boyfriend in that very same role.

However, one line drew criticism from some Irish people who felt there was an anti-Irish lyric included in the song, while others feel it was a harmless jab.

One line in the song reads: "I heard that you're an actor, so act like a stand-up guy. Whatever devil's inside you, don't let him out tonight. I tell them it's just your culture and everyone rolls their eyes."

Many took this to mean that Sabrina felt as though Irish people were not to be trusted, with the popular lyrics website Genius.com stating: "Here Carpenter is asking her alleged boyfriend Barry Keoghan to make sure that he doesn’t show his bad side to the people that she cares about. Barry Keoghan is Irish, and the country of Ireland is known for having a significant issue with alcoholism."

This may not necessarily be what Carpenter is referring to, as she could be implying that Irish people tend to have the gift of the gab, and that Keoghan could use this for reasons she does not want him to during their relationship.

She could also be referring to the fact that actors often have a tendency to be unfaithful, and she is ensuring Keoghan doesn't get any ideas.

In the video, the couple can be seen sharing some PDA moments, as they clearly had some fun working together on the project. Perhaps they'll feature in another piece of work together in the near future, be it a movie or a music video.
