The cast of a new Netflix show about the infamous Guinness family has been revealed. Peaky Blinders creator Steve Knight is heading up House of Guinness, a major new Netflix drama centred on one of Ireland’s biggest dynasties.

The drama focuses on the epic story of one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties — the Guinness family. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story will focus on the consequences of Benjamin Guinness' death.

Benjamin is the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery . The show will also follow the far-reaching impact of his cunning will on the fate of his four adult children — Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben.

House of Guinness boasts James Norton and Jack Gleeson among its cast. Norton is known for British crime drama Happy Valley and Bob Marley: One Love, while Gleeson is famous for Game of Thrones .

Other cast members include Niamh McCormack from Netflix's Everything Now, Anthony Boyle, who appeared in Derry Girls, Louis Partridge from Enola Holmes, Emily Fairn, and Fionn O'Shea who appeared in Normal People .

Boyle plays Arthur Guinness, great-grandson of the original Arthur, who bought the St James's Gate brewery in 1759 . Partridge plays Edward, Fairn plays Anne, and O'Shea is Benjamin.

Norton will portray Sean Rafferty, McCormack will play Ellen Cochrane, and Gleeson will be Byron Hughes. Seamus O'Hara, Dervla Kirwan, Michael McElhatton, Danielle Galligan, David Wilmot, and Hilda Fay also feature.

The upcoming eight-part series, which has already started filming in England, could be a springboard for the next crop of Irish stars to break Hollywood. Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, for instance, kickstarted their careers in the limelight with Normal People and Flea Bag, originally modest Irish and British dramas that took off overseas .
