Selena Gomez wants folks to leave her alone once and for all! The singer and actress is putting an end to surgery rumors while responding back to a nosey fan and revealing what cosmetic work she really got done.

In response to a TikTok video that compared photos of her over the years, suggesting changes in her appearance, Gomez spoke out against the scrutiny and insensitivity of such discussions. Thee video in question, created by a physician’s assistant known as Marissa the PA, sparked debate among fans and followers about Gomez’s possible cosmetic enhancements.

“I literally have no idea what she has gotten done,” creator, Marissa the PA, speculated in her TikTok video. “I think she’s been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don’t think it’s fair to speculate whether or not she’s gotten cosmetic things done. I don’t know what to attribute any of these changes to. But when it comes to Selena, I literally have no idea what to attribute her physical changes to. People say lupus, people say other things. I don’t know, and at the end of the day, let’s just leave her be. I feel like she’s been through enough in her life, and she’s beautiful regardless.” Gomez caught wind of the clip and swiftly addressed the situation, emphasizing that her physical changes were related to medical necessities rather than cosmetic alterations. In a comment on the post, Gomez clarified,

“Honestly I hate this,” she wrote. “I was on stripes because of flare up[s]. I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone.”

The 32 year old was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease around 2013, and made her battle public two years later.

Miss Marissa the PA has since issued an apology in response to Gomez. She said that she tried to make those videos “with so much grace,” and it was never the “intention to tear people down.” She also revealed that she has stopped making comparison videos.
